I saw an article about this on Verbal Spew and a quick google led me to Joystiq’s coverage of the new sqeenix RPG for the… iPod… Song Summoner is apparently a final fantasy tactics like game which generates your army from the songs on your iPod.
Similar to Barcode Battler the game uses the songs on your iPod to create your characters, which is in a way quite innovative, I do wonder if it will lead toa surge of people buyying/ downloading certain tracks because they produce superior characters, if so it’s a great if sneaky idea by apple to covertly promote the iTunes store.
The Features sound amazing… After the break.

I just got home having heard about the fire in a scrap yard in renfrew. I hadn’t realised just how close thefire is t my house… It’s litterally accross the river!
When I came into the Development I was greeted to this image:
Which is scary enough, I went closer to the river and it’s a huge inferno! Crazy…
It’s scary how close it is, I’m wierded out by the smoke not being all over the area I live in, You could actually smell the smoke on Byres Road which is miles away from it, but I can’t smell it here.
I’ve put together a couple of kanji worksheets for anyone wanting to help themselves learn kanji.
The first sheet has all of the Grade 1 kanji and the 2nd has the first half of the Grade 2 kanji.
The idea is you trace over the grey character in the 2nd and 3rd columns then try it yourself without any assistance in the blank columns.
Kanji Worksheet 1,Kanji Worksheet 2
I’ve also made a list of all the level 1 kanji. Maybe print it out and put it up some place you’ll see it often and you will absorb it via osmosis, or you could use it as a quick reference.
Level 1 Kanji List
I’ll work on putting together some more (At least the rest of Grade 2) as soon as I can, I’ll take into account any comments anyone puts forward, but for the time being enjoy.
I just saw on JapanCast That a live action version of grave of the fireflies is coming to japanese cinemas on saturday.
The original anime is amazing, and the easilly the most depressing thing I have ever watched, hopefully the live action film will just as good.
The masters of anime that makes no sense but remains fun, entertaining and incredibly cute are releasing a new film, Ponyo on the Cliff by the sea (???????, Gake no Ue No Ponyo) which seems to be about a gold fish who wan’t to be human who meets a five year old boy.
The cynic in me thinks that from the trailer this is going to go over the threashhold of cuteness that I can handle. The theme music in the trailer is sickeningly cute to say the least.
The jaded cartoon watcher in me thinks this is going to a japanese version of the little mermaid meets Finding Nemo in the same way that spirited away was Alice in wonderland on Acid.
But all in all I cant help looking forward to this, maybe it’s because I just like everything that Ghibli have come up with. I do however with they’d do more serious anime like the amazing but incredibly depressing Grave of the fireflies… Although thats not by Miyazaki, it has to be my favourite Ghibli film, even if I have to watch My Neighbor Totoro after it to cheer myself up.
I snapped this photo while I was in Japan a couple of years ago.
I’m sorry but given the definition of enema:
enema noun (enemas or enemata) medicine 1 the injection of a liquid into the rectum, eg to clean it out or to introduce medication. 2 the liquid injected.

I’m just flabbergasted… The Icing on the cake is the banana on the box, just what is that supposed to imply…
Not quite as good as the pacman cake Jennie made for me this year, but given the response the pacman cake garnered yesterday I figured I’d post this.
Last year Jennie made me a transformers cake in the shape of Optimus Prime (I can’t really think of a good pun for that caketimus prime just sounds lame).
The cake is a mixture of carrot cake (My favourite cake) and chocolate cake (everyones favourite cake), the wheels were made from sugar icing and were ludicrously sweet.
Contrary to what many people seem to have inferred Jennie is not my girl friend, she’s my girl friends ex-flatmate, who just happens to be obssessed with making cake.
If people are still interested in Jennies cakes I’ll see if I can’t get her to dig up some more. Maybe even set up a cake blog for her.
I had a look at my website statistics and while I’ve had this site for a good while it seems that posting cake to it has brought it to life.
Ok I was looking for a way to use that Eddie Izzard Quote as a title for a post, but it’s amazing what one post on boing boing can do for your popularity.
I saw on Joystiq a site with a countdown clock for a project called ctds… it can only be Chronotrigger on the DS! I almost wept for joy (Thats really sad isn’t it).
Especially after square shut down Chrono Resurrection which looked quite promising. I’ve been meaning to drag out my SNES for months to play chronotrigger, now it’s looking like I might be playing it on my way to work.
My friend Jennie made me this amazing pacman cake for my birthday.
It’s a banana cake with yummy butter icing.
The Ghosts were banana, whitechocholate and cherry cupcakes covered in sugar icing. Everyone felt guilty eating them they looked so cute.
Of course that didn’t stop Annabel…
Shee looks a bit manic in that photo…
