DIY Pantone Easter eggs

Is it too late to post Easter Eggs? Jessica from How About Orange created these lovely DIY Pantone Easter Eggs and tells you how she did it, it’s quite simple really, but they are lovely. In her own words:

The graphic designer in me couldn’t resist attempting faux Pantone Easter eggs. I dyed these boiled eggs, then typed up the labels and printed them on ink jet temporary tattoo paper. Remember to print the words backwards! (I used Silhouette brand tattoo paper I bought at my local PaperSource, but you can also get similar stuff fromDecalPaper.com.) And yes, I’m such a nerd that I had to match the color numbers properly using my chip book.

Chemistry Crayon Labels - set of 24

I was a little disappointed to find out that these are just labels and not actually a set of crayons. You’ll have to buy your own Crayola crayons to stick them onto rather than them being pre-wrapped. QueInteresante supply these label for a variety of Crayon colours and they also make labels to put on your colouring pencils… I mean your kids colouring pencils…

New He-Man Comic From DC

It looks like DC are going to be breathing new life into the He-Man franchise by releasing a 6 issue mini-series. Written by James Robinson, pencils by Philip Tan and inks by Ruy Jose.

When I was a kid He-Man was my one dimensional hero of choice until I discovered Transformers, I devoured the books and TV show. It looks like they are going to be add a little bit more depth to the series though, the plot synopsis actually looks interesting:

In the new series, Robinson reintroduces the Masters of the Universe® to comic readers with Skeletor having won a major victory and rewriting the world of Eternia where he now rules from Castle Grayskull and the Masters have no memory of their former glory. Adam is a simple woodsman haunted by dreams of a heroic warrior, wielding a powerful sword in battle. He is found by a mysterious sorceress who tells him his dreams are of the way the world should be, that he is Eternia’s champion He-Man. Adam sets off on a quest to regain his power and reawaken the Masters of the Universe.

Here’s hoping… I might actually make a trip to my local comic shop and pick this one up.

LEGO fuses Evangelion and Gundam

I’ve never been a fan of Gundam, not because I dislike it for any reason, I’ve just never watched it, I do however like Neon Genesis Evangellion, and who doesn’t like Lego? This model combines all three of the above, with a hybrid Eva/Gundam mech made out of Lego. How can any sane geek not love that?

<p>&#8220;Tatakae Chou Samurai Seimeitai&#8221; is a ukiyo-e wood block print from around the Sengoku era. This particular design tells a warrior’s tale of an epic battle between good and evil, one that carries over into the modern day. Though this appears to be a typical feud between opposing samurai, there is more to this print than meets the eye.</p><br /><br /><br />

One of the most iconic scenes of the original Transformers TV show was the battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron on top of the Hoover Dam. Artist NinjaInk whose work I’ve posted here before has recreated this scene by replacing the main characters with samurai armour.

You can buy this T-Shirt from RedBubble for £16. This isn’t the first time I’ve posted a Transformers Samurai crossover, although the style here is completely different to the one in the image I posted by creatureBox.

Update: I should have skimmed through NinjaInks gallery before posting this, I’ve found a similar image with Snake Eyes and whoever the white ninja in Cobra was from G.I.Joe/Action Force:

I’d Marry This Cake…

This is one hell of a wedding cake… Shaped like a wedding dress with a simple bodice and an intricately iced skirt. The only way to top this would be for the bride to actually wear the cake/dress.

Image found on Foodista I can’t find a source link aside from a post in Chinese on digu, which doesn’t attribute it to anyone.

Baby Cult

This scares me, loads of people I went to school or in fact university with are married with kids, I go home once every couple of years and am surrounded by kids, I’m not talking babies actual walking talking children.

For some people once they become breeders they seem to go through a process of metamorphosis which strips them of the ability to converse about anything but their children. I’m not saying this happens to everyone, lots of people manage to maintain a really good balance between their own life and themselves, you can actually carry out a conversation with them that isn’t about their kids, others have no other topic of conversation.

Have they not watched any horror/action movies the person who incessantly talks about their kids is always the first to die!

If Coffee Was a Drug

This amusing parody of an anti drugs poster warns against the hazards of Coffee. I’m not sure that it’s so true of Coffee, but I think  if alcohol was discovered today rather than several thousand years ago it would probably be a controlled substance.

Honda’s ASIMO Has Come Along By Leaps And Bounds Can Now Do Both Among Other Things

I remember when ASIMO had trouble walking, now he can do all kinds of stuff. Its not long before he goes rogue and starts killing people.
Then our only hope will be a group of four hot women who will dress up in powered suits of armour to fight the robot menace.
