Here is another picture of it closed over:
In an ideal world I’d have the time to put some text here other than the fact that I found these on Dorkly. Sadly we don’t live in an ideal world, like say Middle Earth, but none the less I fell the need to pad out this blog post with at least a modicum of original content, even if it is content about the lack of actual content. If you have read this far you need to drink more tea…
If this isn’t stuck in your head by the time you finish listening to it you have no soul. Dumb Ways to Die is by Tangerine Kitty and is used in an Australian PSA to tell people not to get run over by trains…
It’s sooooooooooooooo cute!
Nice little pictorial story about the two paths that Robert Frost’s life might have taken. I’m not going to spout some sentimental crap about choosing your own path, but it’s interesting to think that one simple decision can change your whole life. If I’d not moved to Glasgow in 1998 I wonder where I would be now? I was 0.5% of a grade away from being accepted to a scholarship that would have seen me going to the states for University and having a career in the oil industry, 0.5% that’s it… The admission criteria was something like 90% and when all my scores were totalled up I had 89.5%
I’m glad I ended up where I ended up, and I’m happy, but I do sometimes wonder what the heck would have happened to me if I’d gotten that extra 0.5%.

The above image is by Little Digits as is the one below. I like the whimsical style of her art, but as with many things that are posted to Tumblr the original source was hard to find, even though they are signed. Little Digits is actually quite prolific and it’s worth looking through her Tumblr blog.
This t-shirt design which mixes Alice in Wonderland with Peach from Super Mario Brothers is available for 23 Euros at La Fraise.
I’m a guy I only vaguely understand high heels, but these just look painful. Imagine being in a constant whatever-the-word-for-when-ballerinas-stand-on-their-tippie-toes-is all the time you wear these shoes… You probably wont fall over, at least not forward, but still that just looks uncomfortable.
They are by Amsterdam based designer Leanie van der Vyver in collaboration with a Dutch shoe designer René van den Berg according to my source article, although I’m not sure they realise that Amsterdam is also in the Netherlands…
“The user must point their foot to insert into the shoe’s modified vamp which is inclined forward and tapers down to the toebox. ”
“Humans are playing God by physically and metaphorically perfecting themselves. Beauty is currently at an all time climax, allowing this project to explore what lies beyond perfection.
Scary Beautiful challenges current beauty ideals by inflicting an unexpected new beauty standard.”
I’ve said it one and I’ll say it again, that cannot be comfortable, which is my only criteria when buying new shoes. I mean honestly I can’t tell if that girl in the photo up top is trying to look sexy or take a dump… I’m guessing the former, but they have left it open to interpretation.

Apparently a discussion thread on a Japanese website lead to them designing an anthropomorphic version of the UK as a cute anime/manga girl. There are a bunch of other designs inspired by this on this page, I’ve collated some of my favourites including the thought process behind transforming the UK in the gallery below.
