Graham says:
is that just comical?
Omar - m(o,O)m says:
I just use live as a chat mechanism
Graham says:
i didn't wanna make much of the teacher, i don't see her as ever having been a main character in the movie
Omar - m(o,O)m says:
it shows that deep down they still have the childish instincts
Graham says:
just some fodder we can use as plot to show the horror of it all
ah i see
Omar - m(o,O)m says:
even if they are blood thirsty killer zombies
Graham says:
yeah, i get where you're coming from there
sure
i suppose that's what i was getting at with the solitary girl standing staring
maybe she's holding a doll or something
and when/if we see her again, we can use the doll to relate the audience to her throughout
so she's not just another zombie
she's _that_ zombie
Omar - m(o,O)m says:
a signature zombie
Graham says:
only when we do see her next, the ragdoll is blood soaked
yeah
absolutely
i think the doll is a great way of making her a signature zombie

I like the idea of one of the zombie children (little girl zombie) walking back onto camera wearing the teachers shoes.

The womb-zombie (Wombies? Too much like Wombles?) thing is a good plot device for a sequel, or even the super special unlockable boss at the end of the movie/comic/MMORPG.

What I do like, is the idea that puberty is what saves you from becoming a zombie. There's a great sexual awakening story to be told there, where the process that changes us into child-bearing "adults" is also what prevents us from becoming corrupted, child-zombies (Chombies? Too much like a shit pun?).

On the flip side of that, you've got the idea that these kids will now never be able to mature and properly procreate which perfectly explains away the idea that we're running out of humans for two reasons:

1. we can't breed (oh noes, no more sex - for maximum risky and darkness, a small foray into the very real frustrations no sex brings to an entire population could be good. And I mean rape as much as masturbation)
2. those humans that are left are either turned (the kids) or eaten (the adults who can't be turned because they're too old - some pun on old age being a good thing is due at some point during the script).

This can have some science fiction attached to it where a certain hormone needs to be present that indicates whether kids are vulnerable to the virus. Specifically pubescent teens though, where the idea that clinics have been set up to screen every child of a certain age range (say 9 - 14) to test for it. Those that do have it are safe and can be squirrelled away 200 floors below sea-level, in a bunker. Kudos to whosoever gets that reference.

Mean time, you've also got the frankly horrifying mid-movie sequence of a kindergarten or primary school class turning on their teacher, slowly stalking this poor, fairly pretty looking young woman - who in real life at least, would more likely be a model or an actress or something to do with environmental, social or language studies; just not a teacher in a zombie horror movie - across the school, trapping her in a class room and approaching her with great inquistive menace on their faces.

I mean seriously - these are young kids who have never really had to face any real emotions before, and now they're filled with the traditional zombie greats of anger, rage and hunger. They don't really know why they're doing what they're doing. They just know they want to get to her and aren't quite sure how to facially communicate it, so they look questioningly at their new quarry as their viral instincts take over and slowly, almost politely, they tear the poor woman to shreds. I want to see that scene in this movie - music fades out, all we hear are the footsteps of the kids approaching, the frantic motions of their prey trying locked doors, her hurried panting, her final scream. Her actual death should be off camera, leaving us instead to look upon the face of a young girl, pretty but still undead, looking quizically on at the scene before her before she moves forward past the camera to join her feasting classmates. Fade to black.

Did I think too much about it?

I prefer Zee to Zed (Not the least because I was brought up with it), but every time I hear someone say 'Zed', I always think of Pulp Fiction 'Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.'
