Blokz Birthday Candles With Bonus Tetris Cake

Not Lego, no sir Blokz candles… Sigh… I don’t know why but if you’d told me just the name I would have assumed they were Tetris birthday candles… Which apparently don’t exist… You can however have Tetris Cake which is almost as good if not better because you eat it which is the second best thing to do to something after burning it.

Fail whale Cake

The “Fail Whale” is a fairly iconic image that anyone who’s used twitter has probably seen at some point, unless you never use the web interface or have been really lucky. This cake was created by Mariana Pugliese a cake designer from Buenos Aires.

Interestingly the Fail Whale was designed by a Chinese illustrator Yiying Lu and was originally an elephant:

You can learn more about how this iconic image came about by watching the following interview with her:

Arya Stark and Nymeria Birthday Cake

If you are enough of a fan to name your firstborn after a character in a book series then you are geeky enough to have a cake for their first birthday themed after that book series. This cake was made by The Regali Kitchen for a little girl named Arya (Presumably not Stark that would be too cool). Arya is easily my favourite character in the series (Sorry Tyrion) so I heartily approve of this.

Also Check out these Song of Ice and Fire Themed cupcakes also by The Recali Kitchen.

Ark of the Covenant Groom’s Cake + Bonus BSG

I’m going to have to start paying attention to “When Geeks Wed” which is where I found this awesome Ark of the Covenant wedding cake, and… A REPLICA BATTLESTAR GALACTICA CAKE!!!!

I’d Marry This Cake…

This is one hell of a wedding cake… Shaped like a wedding dress with a simple bodice and an intricately iced skirt. The only way to top this would be for the bride to actually wear the cake/dress.

Image found on Foodista I can’t find a source link aside from a post in Chinese on digu, which doesn’t attribute it to anyone.
