When you meet your wife to be over a conversation about Batman you kind of have to do this right?
Hat tip to @James_a_craig for pointing me to this.

The comic book industry has a long history of sexualizing women, so much so that someone started a project called the “Hawkeye Initiative” which replaces female characters in comic art with Hawkeye from the avengers to show how ridiculous the poses look and of course there are many reasons why showing cleavage is bad for crime fighting.
So it’s refreshing to see these new takes on classic super heroine costumes, by Michael Lee Lunsford, that preserve their modesty while still allowing them to kick ass.

These Valentines Day Cards featuring DC characters are cringeworth, but also quite cool. Also if you want to know why I chose Aquaman as the header image for this post, it’s because I don’t think he gets enough exposure, he’s a dancing master!

I spent my evening last night watching these 5 minute episodes of Bravest Warriors, the new animated space adventure by Pendleton Ward the creator of Adventure Time.
I’ve only recently been inducted into the Adventure time cult, but I’ve fast grown to love the show, these episodes have everything that makes adventure time fun, just condensed into an even shorter time span and…
The episodes are to air exclusively online on the Bravest Warriors YouTube channel, and Boom Studios are releasing comics based on the show that you can buy now!
The Art Style is adventure time, the humour is adventure time, the voices are for the most part adventure time, and it has a chip tune theme song, what’s not to like, I’ve embedded the first few episodes here so you don’t have to go anywhere to watch them, you can thank me later.

According to The Mary Sue the film adaptation of Y: The Last Man has a director attached to it. Dan Trachtenberg directed a Portal fan film called “Portal: No Escape” (See below).
Y: The Last Man is a graphic novel by Brian K Vaughan and covers the story of Yorrik the only man left standing when every mammal with a Y Chromosome on the planet suddenly dies. That is every mammal except for his pet monkey “Ampersand”.
It’s a beautifully done comic and I’ve had the fourth volume sitting on my to read stack for far to long. I think I know what I’m spending my evening doing…

This short strip is by Jake Wyat for the anthology “Reality Not Included”(Kickstarter) compiled by James Bourne
You can see the Kickstarter video for the anthology below, it looks pretty cool and has been fully funded

These Iron Man Inspired Wrist Warmers are just some of the cool knitted stuff you can get from Nerifacts on Etsy. My other favourite is the Octopus Fascinator Hair Clip just for the sheer ridiculousness of it…

If you want full details head over to Bad Astronomy but apparently this weeks issue of Action Comics Superman #14 pins Krypton as Orbiting LHS 2520 a Red Dwarf star that is 27 light years away from us.
They apparently asked Neil Degrasse Tyson to suggest a star that would fit the location of Krypton and he chose that one.
Also I’ve not read Superman in quite some time but what the hell is going on with his costume in that image?
Here is an image of the star that Krypton orbits:

One day I’ll get bored of Gangnam Style parodies… That day has yet to come…
