Joss Whedon’s beloved Firefly series and Serenity film’s lifespan may have been short-lived, but managed to produce one of the most dedicated fanbases in the history of modern science fiction. Dark Horse is proud to be able to keep Mal and his crew flying with new comics and products. Look for the hashtag #WheresSerenity over the next few months on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages for exclusive news on the future of the franchise at Dark Horse!
This “guide” by (@meghanhetrick) Megan Hetrick was I assume created out of frustration of horny male artists not being able to draw actual normal breasts.
In her words:
SO. Being a woman who’s been “graced” (i use that loosely) with being generously endowed, one of my biggest peeves in the art world is that of improperly drawn boobies. Now i’m not knocking anyone’s knockers in particular, but if you’re trying to draw NATURAL boobies folks, pornos and nudie mags are NOT your best reference sources.
Again, that all goes out the door if that’s the look you’re trying for. But, this is for the folks who want the real thing.
For other references, here’s a good place to start: [link]
The rest of her art is mostly safe for work and pretty good, it looks like she’s leaving DA so here is her website.
Sadly no longer available, these Leggings from Romwe featured covers of various Batman comics on them. If you were able to invent a time machine and go back far enough for them to be available you could go and get them for $24.
Alternatively you could buy some leggings that they sell right now…
The comic book industry has a long history of sexualizing women, so much so that someone started a project called the “Hawkeye Initiative” which replaces female characters in comic art with Hawkeye from the avengers to show how ridiculous the poses look and of course there are many reasons why showing cleavage is bad for crime fighting.
So it’s refreshing to see these new takes on classic super heroine costumes, by Michael Lee Lunsford, that preserve their modesty while still allowing them to kick ass.
These Valentines Day Cards featuring DC characters are cringeworth, but also quite cool. Also if you want to know why I chose Aquaman as the header image for this post, it’s because I don’t think he gets enough exposure, he’s a dancing master!
I’ve only recently been inducted into the Adventure time cult, but I’ve fast grown to love the show, these episodes have everything that makes adventure time fun, just condensed into an even shorter time span and…
The Art Style is adventure time, the humour is adventure time, the voices are for the most part adventure time, and it has a chip tune theme song, what’s not to like, I’ve embedded the first few episodes here so you don’t have to go anywhere to watch them, you can thank me later.
