Amazingly choreographed dance video by Genki Sudo and his dance troupe World Order. What I like best is the fact that they go to see a choreographed show and their choreography is better than the choreography of the show.
I’m a little sad that my Japanese isn’t good enough to tell you the complete story behind this assuming there is one. From what I can gather the original Japanese post is just a blog post about geeky T-Shirts, and it happens to have this Kimono in it too.
The homemade (I assume?) Mario Kimono has a scent from Super Mario Bros embroidered on the “Obi” and the start screen on the back, as well as having Mario, Peach, Bowser a Boo and a 1-Up mushroom on the kimono.
The Famicom (What the Japanese NES was) controller obi tie makes it perfect.
Incidentally the same post also has this pretty cool Gameboy Dress:
And these funky Gamer tights:
This is the 21st in a series of “Show Me Your Gamer Shirts” Blog posts by this blogger, so there is a lot more to see there.
I’m not one to describe things as being “Crazy” lightly but in this case that is actually what these headphones by Japanese Company Solid Alliance are actually called. At first thought you’d think it might be quite cool to wonder about looking like your cranium had been skewered by a roaming ronin (Who for some reason decided not to reclaim his sword) but thinking about it, these actually defeat the purpose of headphones.
I wear headphones as a means of trying to blank the world out, if you wore these you would have a constant stream of people hassling you to comment on your, arguably quite cool, headphones.
They don’t just come in Katana form though, the “Crazy” range also includes an apple with an arrow through it, a mushroom and mini ears.
There is also a second set which allows you to have bolts (Called the Franken) a banana, cat’s paws or sushi coming out of your ears…
I can’t stop watching this, the YouTube video describes this as “The Most Disturbing Anime Video Ever” it’s not disturbing at all though, it’s a spoof on the “Vocaloid” genre of music popular in Japan.
On a side note here is Nyan Cat in Project Diva a Vocaloid Rhythm Game for the PS Vita…
Just when you thought Japan coudn’t get any weirder, in comes the Soineya ‘co-sleeping specialty shop’ a cafe in Akihabara (Where else…) where you can fork over $80 for “sleep” with a girl. I assume coffee is extra?
From the website via Google Translate (Because it’s funnier that way):
Japan’s first! ? Ya “lying” from Akihabara shop of lying. I spend the time that you just feel the skin loose. Provides you with a simple and ultimate healing of lying.
Apparently they are opening another one in Shinjuku soon.
And just in case you were wondering:
The shop is strictly prohibited sexual act and adult services. If you were forced, there is the case you will be leaving the way.

The site has a list of profiles for the girls but it’s all just placeholders, and it looks like there is a Google calendar where you can schedule ahead. My Japanese isn’t good enough to make out much more from this site, but colour me bemused.
Interested? Want to follow then on Twitter? Well you can do that too! @akibasoineya
Their twitter feed is a bit odd, I did find this on it though…
Hat tip to Lost at E Minor
The quack “Invisible Muzzle” that’s right invisible will keep your dog from barking at and biting people no problem… It sells for 1600 yen and will make your dog look completely retarded…
I was in TSUTAYA in Shibuya last week, and while browsing the Blue Ray/DVD section I saw this little sticker and thought: No it can’t be!
Surely enough there is a little cartoon prawn, presumably by the staff, to draw your attention to the film. I enjoyed District 9 but for weeks after I kept on saying “I hate those Fucking Prawns” in a really bad South African accent.
This amused me no end and will hopefully amuse you. If it doesn’t amuse you then you are probably a fucking prawn!
So you know how they say Japanese TV is really strange… I was channel surfing in my hotel room while I was packing to leave Tokyo on Saturday night, and this came on the screen… To be honest I have no idea why I watched this except for complete bewilderment. It seems to me like it was a short film about a girl who was ostracized from her school because she refused to wear the school uniform. The school uniform being a bra panties and high stocking in blue so bright it made your eyes bleed.
My what the fuckomiter was going completely haywire while watching this show, it’s an all girls school with a single male teacher and some mean prefects that seems to wear slightly different clothes. At some point the girl who refuses to conform decides she’s going to sleep in a tent in the class. Which insights more bullying, and eventually the move her out of the class by collapsing the tent while she’s sleeping in it and putting it up somewhere else.
She decides to run away from the school because, you know she’s being bullied to wear clothes that she’s not comfortable wearing, and has a touching farewell with her friend where she hands her her notes, and then runs away, when her friend looks int he notes she finds a drawing of everyone who has been mean to her…
The friend feels bad about this and tells everyone that they’ve been mean to the girl, and for some reason the girl comes back and they decide that she doesn’t need to take off her clothes to be accepted. YAY! Isn’t that a lovely moral, you don’t have to take off your clothes to be popular.
Then because everyone has been so nice to her she decides that she is going to take her clothes off anyway and they all dance in a circle…
I forgot to mention she was wearing the school uniform she objected to so much under the clothes that she had been wearing throughout the entire show… How convenient…
Apparently in Japan they advertise for recruits to the Special Defense Force (Japan aren’t allowed to have a military due to a clause that was added to their constitution after WWII) using manga. Look at how cute that girl is, she is missing her boyfriend who is away helping people for his country. The above image is from the 2012 campaign below are the 2011 and 2010 posters.
I could spend hours trying to find out what the japanese in this article is trying to say, or I can infer from the imagery that it is trying to teach you the optimal angles for staring up a girls skirt while walking up a set of stairs.
I wish I knew what book or magazine this came from, I’m sure it would be a gold mine…
