MEGATRON MEGADRIVE IS MEGA COOL!

sega_mega_drive_megatron_transformer

Sadly this is a non functioning Megadrive (or Genesis) wont be uttering Megatron’s immortal words “I still function” but it does transform into him, the lord giveth and the lord taketh away, in this instance the lord is Takara Tomy and Sega.

Presumably the USB attachment on his arm cannon is a pendrive, this fits with the Ravage Pen drive released a few years back:

LEGO Nintendo 64 Transformers

The same guy (Baron von Brunk) who made the LEGO Gameboy transformer and the LEGO NES Light Gun that I posted ages ago has gone and made a LEGO N64 with transformable controller and cartridges!

Steampunk Optimus Prime T-Shirt

These two T-Shirts featuring a Steam Punk Optimus Prime and a Steam Punk Soundwave are pretty cool, I especially love Optimus’ top hat and the fact that it looks like Soundwave transforms into a music box. They are both available from We Love Fine for $25 each… Maybe next month…

Transformers (Autobot) Infographic

image

Nice little infographic that tells you what the real world inspiration for the design of most of the generation 1 Autobots was.

Now all we need is a Decepticon version although I suspect that most of them would just be F15 Eagles.

Orktimus Prime: Transforming Warhammer 40K Custom Miniature

OrktimusPrimeOpen

I don’t often admit to this, but a very long time ago (20 years if not more) I tried to become a wargamer… I say tried because it never happened, I bought a lot of miniatures then discovered that when you live in Saudi Arabia there aren’t very many places to actually wargame.

Anyway, that and the fact that this is a Transformers themed custom miniature are just two of the many reasons I find this piece by “madscuzzy” (Deviant Art Page) awesome, the other reasons mainly have to do with the fact that it is in fact actually awesome…

You can read a full interview with the creator over at Tabeltop Geeks, I’m not going to replicate that here. They also have in progress images of the piece.

On a slight tangent, many many years ago one of my many internet handles was Skuzzy so in a parallel universe you could be reading this on Skuzzy.net…

LEGO Game Boy Transformer Official Parts List and Instructions

LEGO Game Boy Transformer Official Parts List and Instructions

This is why it pays to pay attention to the incoming links to your blog, I noticed that someone had posted a link to the LEGO GameBoy Transformer I posted a while back on the GameFAQs forum, someone else has pointed out that the guy who made it has not posted a how to with a complete part list on Instructables.

Crochet Optimus Prime Hat

Opti-kins Prime Hat --- Pre-orders for the month of July 2012 -- inspired by Optimus Prime Transformer Hat

This hat is available by BeeBeeKins on Etsy, it reminds me a little of MegaMan Helmets I posted a while back, but it’s by someone completely different, and while MegaMan is cool Optimus Prime is awesome!

Geek Icons on Pulp Novel Covers

These images by Tony Fleecs depict famous Geek Icons on the cover of pulp novels, A host of characters including Emma Frost, Batgirl, Harly Quin, Mary Jane, Padme, Princess Leia, Princess Peach, Rogue, Gambit, Super Girl, and Wonder Woman  all grace these covers. Also scroll to the bottom for a sad little bonus image I found on his Deviant Art profile…

I didn’t think this scene from Transformers the movie could be more sad but somehow with the cuteness added it’s even sadder…

Tatakae Chou Samurai Seimeitai! Transformers Samurai

Tatakae Chou Samurai Seimeitai! by ninjaink<br /><br /><br />

<p>&#8220;Tatakae Chou Samurai Seimeitai&#8221; is a ukiyo-e wood block print from around the Sengoku era. This particular design tells a warrior’s tale of an epic battle between good and evil, one that carries over into the modern day. Though this appears to be a typical feud between opposing samurai, there is more to this print than meets the eye.</p><br /><br />

One of the most iconic scenes of the original Transformers TV show was the battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron on top of the Hoover Dam. Artist NinjaInk whose work I’ve posted here before has recreated this scene by replacing the main characters with samurai armour.

You can buy this T-Shirt from RedBubble for £16. This isn’t the first time I’ve posted a Transformers Samurai crossover, although the style here is completely different to the one in the image I posted by creatureBox.

Update: I should have skimmed through NinjaInks gallery before posting this, I’ve found a similar image with Snake Eyes and whoever the white ninja in Cobra was from G.I.Joe/Action Force:

Ukiyo-e woodblock depiction of a centuries-old dual between rival members of a ninja clan. The work is considered anachronistic, considering that ancient Japanese laser uzis would not be invented until years later.<br />

Throne of Screams

Throne of Screams by Brinkerhoff<br />
USD$10 for 24 hours only

Throne of Screams by Brinkerhoff imagines StarScream on the Iron Throne. The crown he wears in the Transformers movie is a nice touch but I can’t get past the fact that the colours on this image seem a bit too dark.

If it tickles your fancy you have 24 hours (Probably less by the time you read this) to get it off of Ript Apparel.
