Weird Shoes…

Scary-Beautiful

I’m a guy I only vaguely understand high heels, but these just look painful. Imagine being in a constant whatever-the-word-for-when-ballerinas-stand-on-their-tippie-toes-is all the time you wear these shoes… You probably wont fall over, at least not forward, but still that just looks uncomfortable.

They are by Amsterdam based designer  Leanie van der Vyver in collaboration with a Dutch shoe designer René van den Berg according to my source article, although I’m not sure they realise that Amsterdam is also in the Netherlands…

“The user must point their foot to insert into the shoe’s modified vamp which is inclined forward and tapers down to the toebox. ”
“Humans are playing God by physically and metaphorically perfecting themselves. Beauty is currently at an all time climax, allowing this project to explore what lies beyond perfection.
Scary Beautiful challenges current beauty ideals by inflicting an unexpected new beauty standard.”

I’ve said it one and I’ll say it again, that cannot be comfortable, which is my only criteria when buying new shoes. I mean honestly I can’t tell if that girl in the photo up top is trying to look sexy or take a dump… I’m guessing the former, but they have left it open to interpretation.

Epona’s Song Tattoo

This is my second tattoo, Epona’s song from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It’s on my right wrist. I intend to have a music themed sleeve on my right arm one day. I wanted a Zelda tattoo and when I decided on Epona’s song, I figured it would be able to fit into a music themed sleeve since it is a song. Zelda was THE game I played during childhood. Nintendo 64, all day.
Ashley Smith from No Regrets Tattoo in Oklahoma City is my artist. She’s incredible. I have another appointment with her for the 13th. Stoked to get some more ink
