Neon Genesis Evangelion Themed DSLR

Pentax parades Evangelionflavored Q10s
EVA-1 Shinji Ikari

It’s not often I get talk about both anime and photography, Pentax are releasing an Evangelion themed Q10 DSLR in April, sadly it’s Japan only and they are only making 1,500 of each model so the chances of getting your grubby mitts on one is fairly low. But you can dream.

It’s going to clock in at 59,800 Yen ($660 or a little over £400)  for that that you get a 12.4 megapixel, mirrorless interchangable lens camera which can also shoot video in fill HD.

It’s apparently not just going to come in the above EVA-1 colour palette but will be available in the other EVA models as well.

It’s a Camera Without a Camera

In a fit of minimalism designer Yeon Su Kim has taken the camera out of the equation. A bluetooth connection links a small camera on your thumb to your smartphone and uses the smartphone for storage, a ring on your index finger senses the click motion of your finger and takes the picture. I’m not sure how well it would work in practice but the concept it pretty cool.

Vomit Inducing Psychedelic Camera

Candy Camera by PJ Linden
This diabetes-inducing Canon DSLR with a 28-135mm lens was decorated using Tulip 3D Fashion Paint and Scribbles Dimensional Fabric Paint, giving it a candy-coated like exterior. So you know, dont actually try to eat it. Though I wouldnt blame you for trying.

Looking at this thing makes my head hurt… Also my wallet, that isn’t a cheap camera I think it’s a Canon 5D… At least they don’t have to worry about anyone stealing their camera, because you’d be able to see the thing a mile away

Concept Camera Rubber-Stamp Counterfeiters Wet Dream?

This concept digital camera that turns any picture you take into a rubber stamp is indeed a “Nifty” idea. How you’d go about making one is anyone’s guess maybe it could work with millions of tiny pins like those executive pin toy things. If they can get the resolution good enough this thing would be a counterfeiters wet dream though. need to forge a stamp? Just take a picture of it and hey presto instant duplicate.

Mini 5MP Camera

I’ve been looking for something like this but I’ve not found anywhere in the UK that sells them… It’s a 5 Mega Pixel Camera that will fit on your key chain. It takes micro SD cards and only costs $50 (£30?). It also records avi video at 1280×960 29fps… Which is pretty nifty.

Brando says they do world wide shipping for only $3 I’m sorely tempted, that would allow me to have a camera on me all the time and make my 365 slightly easier.

Voltron Star Shooter

Voltron Star Shooter, originally uploaded by John Kratz.

Screw my 500D I want one of these! It’s a Voltron figuring that transforms into an SLR camera!

When I was I kid I used to love Voltron and I would have killed for this. The top part is (was) a working film camera, albeit not SLR and the SLR lens is a fake.

Come to think of it maybe I think I’ll stick with the 500D… But if this was digital I’d be there…

This reminded me of reflector a set of three transformers who joined together to form a camera, I remember it being a send away for toy int he 80s, I had it but I think I broke it 🙁
