These two prints are available for $10 each from The Manly Art Shop, I’m sure there are more there are more interesting things to find there but these two are wonderful.

I found this cake on someone’s FaceBook this morning, it’s by PinkBunny and features the cast of FireFly as cupcakes as well as Serenity.

The coolest thing about it though is that Serenity’s engine lights up!

I’m on my iPad so I can’t chase up the attribution for this image properly at the moment… Its by Aaron Williams of Do Gooder Press. I looked there and he has a bunch of we comics one of which I assume this was published on.

There is something about art nouveau art that just exudes class, I really like these three Nintendo themed pieces available as a triptych or separately from artist Megan Lara‘s store over at society6. I’d love to have these up on my wall as they are quite subtle and it’s not immediately obvious that they are video game inspired.

I’ve always liked it when a Science fiction movie, book or film plays games with the evolution of language in the future. Bladerunner had Cityspeak a mix of Hungarian, French, Chinese, German, Korean and Japanese. Shepard Book was one of the more interesting characters in Firefly, he obviously had an interesting back story that was never really explored, and then he got shafted in Serenity. Well now Joss Whedon and his brother Zack have written a graphic novel which covers his back story, including apparently him finding god in a bowl of soup…

I’ve not read any of the Firefly books but I would buy this.
