Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Painting

image

This has been hanging on my wall for over a year now, it’s a painting by Green Castle Graphics of the final scene in Link’s Awakening. I’ve seen a couple of posts on Reddit that reminded me of it in particular a pearler bead rendition of a scene from Crono Trigger, which has to be my favourite game ever, so I figured I’d finally share this.

I saw this while walking past Green Castle Graphic’s stall at Sloan’s Market in Glasgow, and I had to buy it then and there. Here is the image in Green Castle’s Facebook Gallery before I bought it.

I’m sorely tempted to commission another image by Green Castle I just don’t know what… I have a couple of Ideas though.

FWIW here is the Pearler Bead Chronotrigger image that inspired me to post this:

After two years and 47,096 beads, my girlfriend and I finish this tribute to my favorite game of all time. (OC)

Vincent Van Gogh Self Portrait Costume

I might as well post this here as Halloween is coming up and I’ve not found any more Lichtenstein costumes to post yet.

The costume was spotted by Redditor beadmandingo while walking about the French Quarter of New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

Awesome “Quadtych” Tree Painting

48x24 Original Modern Abstract Heavy Texture Impasto Acrylic Painting Landscape Tree Wall Decor "365 Days of Happiness"

I love this image of a tree by QiQiGallery available on Etsy, it’s labeled as a modern abstract but I like to think that each panel represents a season, I don’t know if that was the intention. You can buy this for $365 US + shipping from Canada. If you like what you see the same gallery has a number of other paintings in a similar style.

I searched for a word for the equivalent of a triptych but with four images the best I could come up with was “Quiptych” or “Quadtych” there appear to be Flickr groups for both…

Perfect Grab Bag For Zombie Collapse of Civilization

mainImg

Or you know a Zombie apocalypse… This little bag available in khaki or yellow is printed on demand by CafePress.co.uk or CafePress.com put all the things you need to survive the collapse of civilization as we know it, you know like hand cream, soap and nail clippers…

It’s a little small I’d maybe like if on a messenger bag, I think it’s meant to hold a tablet PC/iPad or netbook rather than tools that will help you survive the impending end of civilization…

On an unrelated note I discovered that changing the .com to .co.uk on cafe press gives you the same product but available in the UK which is refreshing. I guess that’s one thing that’s nice about print on demand stuff rather than specially manufactured things.

On another unrelated note here is a picture of a dodo…

Roll Out!

In a vain attempt to reassert my manliness after all that Disney, here is a picture of a Truck… Oh wait it’s Optimus Prime and what a pretty sun set… No! MUST BE MANLY RARRR! (That was my “Man Roar” what do you think?)

The image is by NinjaInk who I’ve featured here before and will probably feature here again…

Disturbing “Descent” Cake

This cake by Fire and Icing (I love that name) is based on the painting “Descent” by Ray Ceaser having seen the painting it’s fairly accurate. Though I’m not sure I’d want to eat such a disturbing and beautiful cake.

There is a gallery of more photo’s of the cake on Flickr.
