Super Mario Brothers Kimono

I’m a little sad that my Japanese isn’t good enough to tell you the complete story behind this assuming there is one. From what I can gather the original Japanese post is just a blog post about geeky T-Shirts, and it happens to have this Kimono in it too.

The homemade (I assume?) Mario Kimono has a scent from Super Mario Bros embroidered on the “Obi” and the start screen on the back, as well as having Mario, Peach, Bowser a Boo and a 1-Up mushroom on the kimono.

The Famicom (What the Japanese NES was) controller obi tie makes it perfect.

Incidentally the same post also has this pretty cool Gameboy Dress:

And these funky Gamer tights:

This is the 21st in a series of “Show Me Your Gamer Shirts” Blog posts by this blogger, so there is a lot more to see there.

Mario Meets Limbo… Noirio?

I can’t find the original source of this image apart from this Reddit post which is unfortunate, however it reminded me of the below image which I have had in my queue waiting to be blogged for months.

I have this image down in my notes as being by iGreefing and that matches the water mark but it’s not longer in their gallery…

I’d love to put together a Mario game in the style of Limbo I think it would be super creepy.

While I’m on the subject of B&W Mario games, there is also this image which is also in my to-blog queue:

It’s by Deviant Art user CodFather.

Awesome Lego Creations of H.Y. Leung

Lego 8-Bit Warp Pipe Planter
This Lego Pipe Planter by H.Y. Leung is pretty cool, it’s made to look just like a pipe from Super Mario Brothers and the blockiness of the Lego makes it look that little bit more 8-Bit.

Also check out this Lego pencil, by the looks of things it’s actually a mechanical pencil and you can write with it!

Lego #2 HB Pencil

He’s also Made a Lego paper Lantern which is semi opaque and lets light through.

Super Mario Eyes

I’ve blogged about Katie Alves doing Disney Eye Makeup before but this is a different story, this time she’s doing Mario! And thus warrants me highlighting her talents yet again. Apparently there is a whole Mario themed photo shoot in the works…

Holy crap it’s Mario! I’m actually in the works of doing a Mario themed photo shoot with a photographer, so I’m testing out different designs. I don’t think I’ll be using this one though. It took way too long and the details are way too tiny. The model’s eyes are tiny compared to my drag queen shaped eyes!

Ok, so we’ve got the coin counter, those hill things, the piranha plant, the ? box, a Goomba, step things with coins, Bullet Bill, an odd looking Mario in the tanooki suit (with wiggling tail), a mushroom, Koopa Troopa, Yoshi, the flag pole and finally the castle! Ahhh so many tiny little things. I’m quite proud of that Yoshi. Frig, that was grossly tiny.

On a side note, I need your help guys! I’ve dropped down to 6th place in the Makeupbee/Sugarpill contest. It would mean the world to me if you voted for me! [link] A “like” is a vote!

Super Mario Wedding

watercolor and cut paper wedding invitation

I’ll be honest with you, if someone told me they were going to have a Super Mario themed wedding I would have assumed it would have been a rather tacky affair, maybe verging on kitsch, but definitely cartoony.

That’s why this photo set on Green Wedding Shoes surprised me. It’s not tacky, it’s not cartoony, it’s almost classy.

Sure it’s not your traditional white wedding, but I think it’s actually quite stylish. The wedding concept is apparently the work of Primary Petals.
