I’m a little sad that my Japanese isn’t good enough to tell you the complete story behind this assuming there is one. From what I can gather the original Japanese post is just a blog post about geeky T-Shirts, and it happens to have this Kimono in it too.
The homemade (I assume?) Mario Kimono has a scent from Super Mario Bros embroidered on the “Obi” and the start screen on the back, as well as having Mario, Peach, Bowser a Boo and a 1-Up mushroom on the kimono.
The Famicom (What the Japanese NES was) controller obi tie makes it perfect.
Incidentally the same post also has this pretty cool Gameboy Dress:
And these funky Gamer tights:
This is the 21st in a series of “Show Me Your Gamer Shirts” Blog posts by this blogger, so there is a lot more to see there.
I’m convinced I blogged this ages ago but apparently I haven’t: Janet of Saluki Feathers created this belt featuring the final level of Super Mario Brothers back in August as a birthday present for her brother.
It hit Reddit went viral, the internet had a collective joy-gasm at them and now she has started selling them on her Etsy page. They aren’t cheap at $395.00 but they are cool…
Thanks Laura for reminding me about this.
This t-shirt design which mixes Alice in Wonderland with Peach from Super Mario Brothers is available for 23 Euros at La Fraise.
So I was looking for the original source for the above image by Wes Talbott, and I stumbled onto something wonderful. Apparently Lego have a site where people can suggest and vote on new Lego sets and collaborations. If a project gets 10,000 votes it will be submitted to Lego for review. On this page I found that there is a submission for a Lego Zelda! And it’s reached the the required amount of support to be considered by Lego!
Someone also has designs up for a Lego The Guild:
and Lego Final Fantasy:
UPDATE: THERE ARE TWO LEGO ZELDA PROJECTS ON THAT SITE!
The guy who is working on the second Lego Zelda is also working on renders for a Lego Super Mario Brothers but it’s still early days on that…
This Lego Pipe Planter by H.Y. Leung is pretty cool, it’s made to look just like a pipe from Super Mario Brothers and the blockiness of the Lego makes it look that little bit more 8-Bit.
Also check out this Lego pencil, by the looks of things it’s actually a mechanical pencil and you can write with it!
He’s also Made a Lego paper Lantern which is semi opaque and lets light through.
If that’s not cool enough for you check out his other works by clicking on the thumbnails below:
This T-Shirt on RedBubble mixes the Iconic Watchemen Logo with the Super Mario Brothers. Asking us the question who watches the Mario Brothers?
Thing is I can totally see The Comedian being played by a fat plumber…
What else are you going to do when you get a mixer that looks like this? Apart from order some custom decals from Mustard Seed Dreams to make it look like a Bullet Bill from Super Mario Brothers? I’m a little disappointed that the arms aren’t little plastic arms, but it still looks cool.
I only hope that the person who writes Bake With Vengence used this mixer to make this cake:
