I’m convinced I blogged this ages ago but apparently I haven’t: Janet of Saluki Feathers created this belt featuring the final level of Super Mario Brothers back in August as a birthday present for her brother.
It hit Reddit went viral, the internet had a collective joy-gasm at them and now she has started selling them on her Etsy page. They aren’t cheap at $395.00 but they are cool…
Thanks Laura for reminding me about this.
This is a cool piece of latte art by Brooklyn Barista Marni Cohen, of Cafe Madeline.

This could be the reason I use to get a Roomba, these custom Nintendo Roomba covers were created for the SUPER iam8bit Art Exhibit. Featuring Koopa shells, a Goomba from the super mario series of games and an Octorock from the Legend of Zelda.
I must admit that I’m a little disappointed that there isn’t a blue shell with wings, can you imaging how scary that would be if it started following you?

This t-shirt design by Albino Raven (Glen Brogan) (Facebook) showing the various Warp Zones in Mario 1,2 and 3 sadly isn’t available on his Split Reason store front…
I’ve blogged about Katie Alves doing Disney Eye Makeup before but this is a different story, this time she’s doing Mario! And thus warrants me highlighting her talents yet again. Apparently there is a whole Mario themed photo shoot in the works…
Holy crap it’s Mario! I’m actually in the works of doing a Mario themed photo shoot with a photographer, so I’m testing out different designs. I don’t think I’ll be using this one though. It took way too long and the details are way too tiny. The model’s eyes are tiny compared to my drag queen shaped eyes!
Ok, so we’ve got the coin counter, those hill things, the piranha plant, the ? box, a Goomba, step things with coins, Bullet Bill, an odd looking Mario in the tanooki suit (with wiggling tail), a mushroom, Koopa Troopa, Yoshi, the flag pole and finally the castle! Ahhh so many tiny little things. I’m quite proud of that Yoshi. Frig, that was grossly tiny.
On a side note, I need your help guys! I’ve dropped down to 6th place in the Makeupbee/Sugarpill contest. It would mean the world to me if you voted for me! [link] A “like” is a vote!
I’ll be honest with you, if someone told me they were going to have a Super Mario themed wedding I would have assumed it would have been a rather tacky affair, maybe verging on kitsch, but definitely cartoony.
That’s why this photo set on Green Wedding Shoes surprised me. It’s not tacky, it’s not cartoony, it’s almost classy.
Sure it’s not your traditional white wedding, but I think it’s actually quite stylish. The wedding concept is apparently the work of Primary Petals.
The video games industry is filled with male role models, not too many female protagonists, sure we get the odd Lara Croft or Ms. PacMan but on the whole girls seem to be more like princess peach or Zelda, a plot device or the reason the male character is out stomping mushrooms or killing baddies.
While this series by artist Marques Cannon does a little towards changing that it hard not to notice the focus on tits an ass in the series. Still they are pretty cool, by why does every woman in video games have to be half naked?
This map of Super Mario World done as if it were an old map is lovely. They have managed to capture the art style of the game while also making it look Ye-Olde Worldy…
Can you traverse the dangerous terrain of Ye Olde Dinosaur Land, to rescue the princess?
