These pulp covers by TonyFleecs feature iconic Cartoon, Comic and Video Game characters on the covers of Pulp Novels.
The comic book industry has a long history of sexualizing women, so much so that someone started a project called the “Hawkeye Initiative” which replaces female characters in comic art with Hawkeye from the avengers to show how ridiculous the poses look and of course there are many reasons why showing cleavage is bad for crime fighting.
So it’s refreshing to see these new takes on classic super heroine costumes, by Michael Lee Lunsford, that preserve their modesty while still allowing them to kick ass.
These Valentines Day Cards featuring DC characters are cringeworth, but also quite cool. Also if you want to know why I chose Aquaman as the header image for this post, it’s because I don’t think he gets enough exposure, he’s a dancing master!
I’m not sure I like the whole fake geek girl thing? Just because you aren’t an obsessive geek doesn’t mean you can’t like the odd fandom, or even wear a Superman or Wonder Woman T-Shirt/Belt/whatever because you like the design.
Why are people threatened by people encroaching on their territory? It doesn’t make any sense. Or at least it didn’t before I read this.
Beware Fake Geek Girls…
Also this image from Oxboxer:
If this Captain America doesn’t make feel patriotic then you probably aren’t American (I’m not and it doesn’t make me feel patriotic, that is all the evidence I have to go on). I imagine women going out and fighting crime with this thing… I wonder if it comes back to you if you throw it…
There’s even ones for the Guys!
I very much doubt that they are officially licensed as the Aquaman trunks are labeled as being “Fish Dude”… The Wonder Woman suit is “Awesome Girl” Captain America is “Big Star” and the Aquaman womans swimsuit is “Fishchick” They range in price from $29.95 for the trunks to $49.95 for the swimsuits.
These images by Tony Fleecs depict famous Geek Icons on the cover of pulp novels, A host of characters including Emma Frost, Batgirl, Harly Quin, Mary Jane, Padme, Princess Leia, Princess Peach, Rogue, Gambit, Super Girl, and Wonder Woman all grace these covers. Also scroll to the bottom for a sad little bonus image I found on his Deviant Art profile…
I didn’t think this scene from Transformers the movie could be more sad but somehow with the cuteness added it’s even sadder…
I’ve posted too many Disney Princess links today, I can feel my masculinity seeping away. This is image is a gateway out of my Disney infested doom hole.
The Above R2D2 Apron is just one of many Geeky Aprons available to buy at Haute Mess’ Etsy Store you can also get Darth Vader, Harry Potter and Wonder Woman Themed ones. I’m not sure if the intent is for them to be used on a daily basis though, they do mention cooking a cleaning in them but the emphasis seems to be on photo shoots and entertaining whilst wearing them, here are a few more samples:
